Bundle of Joy!

I came home to this yesterday, a pack of lovely samples picked just for me by Dear Dee! It absolutely made my day!

I haven't yet had the chance to smell them all, but I already have a favourite, Aurora from The Morbid The Merrier, just loved the chocolate in it. Also Cioccolata from Scent By The Sea, an Etsy store, really caught my attention, not only the bottle looks cute but also I love the chocolate, citrusy, floral scent. This is all I needed to make an order, I ordered two sampler packs from Scent By The Sea, they are already shipped and I can't wait to try all of the others. You are a damn good enabler Dee! Thank you.

  2. I knew you'd like Aurora - it's such a gorgeous, non-sweet chocolate. :-)

I bought the two sampler packs from Scent By The Sea ages ago, and I think I've tested about five of them. Too many perfumes, too little time! I love the little dram thingies they come in - so cute!

Dee, I loved Aurora, you know exactly what I like :)
Those little dram bottles are adorable! Loving that store, crazy prices, generous size plus 20 new scents to try, can't wait!

  6. I know this is an old post, but since The Morbid the Merrier is defunct now, do you know of any good dupes for any of their fragrances? Thanks!

    1. Sad to see such a nice shop go away. I loved some of the perfumes.
Etsy is a good place to start looking for gothic/dark perfumes, there a few but right now Black Baccara comes to mind. Sarawen has some great perfumes. I am sure you'll find something you like from BLack Phoenix Alchemy Lab. In fact, Delina (TMTM) smells similar to Kali (BPAL). Haven't found any dupes per say. Good luck with the hunt!

    2. Oh. Thank you! I've been searching around and trying new shops. I discover a lot of new places that are good in their own right but haven't found any close to TMTM's yet. I'm frantically looking for a replacement for Horseman and Eggbert and have even danced with the idea of buying my own ingredients and just making them. ;) And is it just me or is BPAL's website/catalogue incredibly intimidating?? That's the only reason I haven't bought from them yet! Haha.

    3. You are welcome, though I don't think I was of much help! I don't remember smelling Eggbert but I absolutely love Horseman. I haven't smelt anything like it but maybe you could try BPAL Dee or Hellfire. Any soft sweet leather scent you come across may be worth trying. It is fun mixing oils and trying your own blend too :)

Absolutely agree about BAL being confusing. You may need to look into your favourite notes and read some forum reviews at BPAL.org before you place an order. Try samples (imps) from general catalogue first. That way you'll get a feel if the scents and see if it works for you or not.
